Features
Watch everything your customers depend on, from one place
Spot Downtime checks your websites, APIs, servers, DNS and scheduled jobs around the clock, tells your team the moment something breaks, and shows your customers what's going on.
Six kinds of checks
As often as every 30 seconds on Pro, or every 5 minutes on Free. A failed check is retried once before it counts, so a single dropped packet doesn't wake anyone up.
Websites
Checks that a page answers with a 2xx or 3xx status within 10 seconds. Add a keyword to catch pages that load but are broken.
GET https://shop.example.com · must contain “Add to cart”
APIs
Any method, headers and body. Check the status code and assert on JSON fields, including nested values and list lengths.
status equals ok · data.items.length greater than 0
TCP ports
Confirms a database, mail server, game server or any other service accepts connections.
db.example.com:5432 · connection refused → down
DNS records
Resolves A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT or NS records, through your chosen resolver, and checks they contain the values you expect.
example.com MX = mx1.example.com
Cron jobs and heartbeats
Your scheduled job calls a private URL when it finishes. If the call doesn't arrive on time, plus a grace period, you hear about it.
0 2 * * * backup.sh && curl -fsS https://…/ping/…
SSL certificates
Every HTTPS check records when the certificate expires. You get a warning 14 days before, once per certificate.
shop.example.com · expires in 12 days
Alerts
Hear about outages where your team already works
Send alerts to Slack, Discord, email or any webhook. Every enabled channel in a workspace gets every alert, so nothing depends on one person.
- Down, recovered (with how long it lasted) and SSL-expiring alerts
- Send a test alert to confirm a channel works
- Webhook JSON for PagerDuty, Zapier or your own code
- Each channel shows its last delivery or why it failed
