SMS alerts

1. In the app, open Alerts and click Add channel, then choose SMS.
2. Enter your mobile number with its country code, like +1 555 123 4567, and click Send code.
3. Type the 6-digit code we text you and click Add channel. The code expires after 10 minutes.
4. Click Send test on the new channel to make sure texts reach you.

Each person who should be texted adds their own number, so every number on the account has been confirmed by its owner. Owners and admins can add numbers.

Texts are short, and each includes a link to the monitor:

Incident updates aren't texted; they go to your chat and email channels. A monitor that keeps going down and up sends at most 4 texts an hour to each number, so a flapping site can't use up the month.

Credits are shared by the workspace. The month's included credits reset on the 1st (UTC); verification codes and test alerts count too. Need more? Buy a pack under Plan & usage: 25 credits for $4 (₹349), 100 for $12 (₹999), 300 for $30 (₹2,499) or 1,000 for $80 (₹6,499). Purchased credits never expire and are used once the included ones run out.

We text numbers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland and Portugal.

Elsewhere, use the mobile app for push alerts, or Telegram, Pushover or ntfy for alerts on your phone.

Turn the channel off, or remove it, on the Alerts page. Replying STOP to a text also blocks further texts to your number; the channel then shows that delivery failed.
