StatusCake bundles uptime monitoring with page speed tests, domain expiry and SSL monitoring, and server monitoring. Its free plan covers 10 uptime monitors at 5-minute intervals, but only 1 SSL monitor and 1 domain monitor. The jump to paid is steep for small teams: Superior is $24.49 a month ($20.41 billed yearly) and Business is $79.99 a month, as of October 2026.

When StatusCake fits better

If you want page speed tests, domain expiry and server CPU or disk monitoring in the same account as uptime, StatusCake covers more of that ground. Agencies looking after many client domains often like the domain monitoring in particular.

When Spot Downtime fits better

If the core need is uptime, APIs, cron jobs, status pages and alerts, you get them at a much lower price point: 30-second checks for $19 a month instead of $79.99, and SSL warnings on every HTTPS monitor rather than counted as separate monitors.

Domain expiry without a monitor

An expired domain takes your site and email down at once. Even without a monitor, put the expiry date in your calendar and make sure auto-renew is on with a card that won't expire first.
