WHOIS & domain expiry lookup
Who a domain is registered with, when it was registered, when it expires and which name servers it uses, straight from the registry.
Good to know
- What happens when a domain expires?
- The website and email stop working, usually within days. After a grace period the domain can be deleted and registered by someone else, sometimes a squatter.
- Why don't I see the owner's name?
- Since GDPR, registries hide personal details. You see the registrar and an abuse contact instead; contact the owner through the registrar.
- What's RDAP?
- The modern, structured replacement for WHOIS, run by the registries themselves. Some country domains don't publish it yet.
