What's my IP address?
This is the address websites see when you visit them.
Good to know
- Why does my IP change?
- Most home and mobile connections get a dynamic address from the provider, which changes from time to time, or when the router restarts. A VPN or iCloud Private Relay shows the VPN's address instead.
- IPv4 or IPv6?
- IPv4 addresses look like 203.0.113.7; IPv6 ones like 2001:db8::1. If your connection supports IPv6, websites that do too will see your IPv6 address.
- How accurate is the location?
- It's the location of your provider's network, often the nearest big city, not your address.
