IPv6 readiness test
Check whether a domain's website, name servers and mail servers have IPv6 addresses, and whether the site actually answers over IPv6.
Good to know
- Why does IPv6 matter?
- A large share of mobile and home internet users now connect over IPv6. Sites without it still work through their provider's translation, but it adds a step and can be slower.
- How do I add IPv6?
- Give your server or load balancer an IPv6 address and publish it in an AAAA record. Most hosting providers and CDNs (Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront and others) can do it for you.
- What is an AAAA record?
- The IPv6 version of an A record: it points a name to an IPv6 address.
