Spot Downtime MCP server for AI assistants

Connect Claude, Cursor, VS Code and other AI assistants to Spot Downtime with the Model Context Protocol. Ask what's down, why an API failed last night, or to put checkout in maintenance for 20 minutes.

Plain-language monitoring

The assistant can list monitors, read incidents and response times, and explain what went wrong.

Actions you approve

With a read & write key it can create and pause monitors, schedule maintenance and post incident updates. Read-only keys only read.

Same keys as the API

Scoped to one workspace, never reaching billing or team settings, and deletable at any time.

Set it up

  1. 1Create an API key under Settings → API keys: read-only to start, read & write to let the assistant make changes.
  2. 2Add the server to your assistant, replacing sd_your_key with your key, as shown below for Claude Code. Cursor, VS Code and Claude Desktop are in the API docs.
bash
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user spot-downtime https://spotdowntime.com/api/v1/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer sd_your_key"

Free for your whole team

20 monitors, checks from three regions and every integration on the Free plan. No card needed.
