DNS lookup
Look up a domain's A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS and TXT records, answered by Cloudflare's public resolver (1.1.1.1).
Good to know
- What the record types mean
- A and AAAA point a name at IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. CNAME makes a name an alias for another. MX says which servers receive email. NS lists the name servers in charge of the domain. TXT holds text such as SPF and domain verification codes.
- I changed a record but still see the old value
- DNS answers are cached for as long as the record's TTL says, often 5 minutes to a day. Different resolvers can show old and new values until the caches expire.
- Watch your records automatically
- Spot Downtime's DNS monitors check that your records keep resolving to the values you expect, and alert you if they change.
