HTTP headers & redirect checker
Follow a URL through every redirect, with each status code and timing, then see the final response headers and which security headers are set.
Good to know
- 301 or 302?
- 301 and 308 are permanent redirects: browsers and search engines remember them. 302 and 307 are temporary. Long redirect chains slow pages down, so aim for one hop.
- Which security headers matter?
- Strict-Transport-Security keeps browsers on HTTPS. Content-Security-Policy limits where scripts can load from. X-Content-Type-Options, X-Frame-Options, Referrer-Policy and Permissions-Policy close common gaps.
- Monitor the response, not just the page
- Spot Downtime's API monitors can check status codes, headers and JSON responses on every check.
Get told the moment it breaks
Checking by hand only tells you about right now. Spot Downtime checks your sites around the clock and alerts you by email, Slack or Discord.
