Alerts
ntfy uptime and downtime alerts
Send an alert to ntfy the moment a website, API, server or cron job goes down, and again when it recovers.
Down, back up and SSL alerts
ntfy hears when a monitor goes down, when it recovers (with how long it was down) and before a certificate expires.
Only real outages
Every failure is retried and confirmed from California, Amsterdam and Singapore before anyone is alerted, so network blips stay quiet.
The reason, not just “down”
Each alert says what failed, such as HTTP 503, a timeout or a missing keyword, how many regions saw it, and links to the monitor.
Set it up
- 1Choose a hard-to-guess topic, like https://ntfy.sh/your-secret-topic, and subscribe to it in the ntfy app. Your own ntfy server works too.
- 2In Spot Downtime, open Alerts → Add channel → ntfy and enter the topic URL, plus an access token for protected topics.
- 3Click Send test to check it arrives. Alert channels are on every plan, including Free.
