New: get a text message when your site goes down
Spot Downtime now texts you when a monitor goes down, recovers or has an expiring SSL certificate, and can call you too. Credits included on every plan, Free too.

Slack and email are fine during the working day. At 3am, or on a train with no data, a text message is what gets noticed. Spot Downtime can now text you when a monitor goes down, when it comes back up, and when an SSL certificate is about to expire.
What you get
- Short, useful texts. Each one names the monitor, says why it failed and links straight to it: “Spot Downtime: Checkout API is DOWN (HTTP 503).”
- Only what needs you. Down, recovery and SSL expiry. Incident updates stay in chat and email.
- No flood from a flapping site. A monitor sends each number at most 4 texts an hour.
- Verified numbers only. Each number is confirmed with a texted code before it gets alerts, so nobody is texted by mistake.
Included on every plan
Every plan includes SMS & voice credits each month, shared across the workspace: 3 on Free, 10 on Starter, 30 on Pro and 1,000 on Enterprise. A text uses 1 credit (2 in continental Europe). Most teams use a handful: a text when something breaks and one when it's fixed. If you need more, packs start at $0.08 a credit and never expire. SMS works in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and most of western Europe.
Set it up in a minute
Open Alerts, click Add channel and choose SMS. Enter your number, type the code we text you, then send a test. The SMS alerts guide covers allowances, countries and how to stop texts.
Want something harder to sleep through? Add a Voice call channel: when a monitor goes down, we call the number and read the alert aloud. A call uses 2 credits.
Outside an SMS country?
